Karachi (HRNW)-\u00a0The Sindh government and the family of young businessman Mir Raza have reached an understanding regarding the investigation into his murder, following which the decision to form a judicial commission has been postponed for the time being.<\/p>\n
According to Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Karachi Mayor and PPP leader Barrister Murtaza Wahab spoke with Mir Raza’s mother, while the victim’s family expressed confidence in the newly formed police investigation team.<\/p>\n
The Sindh Home Minister said that after conflicting reports emerged regarding the case, the provincial government had decided to consider a judicial inquiry to ensure transparency and provide complete satisfaction to the victim’s family.<\/p>\n
However, following the formation of the new police investigation team, the family expressed confidence in the team and agreed that it should continue investigating the murder case.<\/p>\n
According to Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, the decision to establish a judicial commission has therefore been postponed for the time being at the request of the victim’s parents.<\/p>\n
Sindh government sources also said that the family did not request the formation of a judicial commission and had expressed confidence in the new police investigation team.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Section 201 has also been added to the Mir Raza murder case, alongside Sections 365 and 302. Section 302 relates to murder, while Section 201 concerns the concealment or destruction of evidence.<\/p>\n
Following the second post-mortem examination, the investigation has been transferred to a new team headed by DIG Crime and Investigation Amir Farooqi.<\/p>\n
The head of the previous investigation committee, SSP Samiullah Soomro, briefed the new team, while SSP East Zubair Nazir Sheikh also provided details regarding the progress of the investigation and evidence collected so far.<\/p>\n
All available investigation records, evidence and forensic information have been transferred to the new investigation team. The new team is now re-examining all aspects of the case and will proceed on the basis of forensic, technical and other available evidence.<\/p>\n
