{"id":24607,"date":"2026-08-09T12:38:31","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T12:38:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hrnww.com\/?p=24607"},"modified":"2026-08-09T12:38:31","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T12:38:31","slug":"1914-cases-of-child-abuse-and-other-crimes-reported-nationwide-punjab-accounts-for-80","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hrnww.com\/?p=24607","title":{"rendered":"1,914 Cases of Child Abuse and Other Crimes Reported Nationwide, Punjab Accounts for 80%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Islamabad (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2014 A total of <strong>1,914 cases involving child abuse and other crimes against children<\/strong> were reported across Pakistan from <strong>January to June 2026<\/strong>, including sexual exploitation, abduction, missing children, child marriages and incidents involving child pornography following sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p>According to the available figures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1,015 cases<\/strong> of child sexual exploitation were reported.<\/li>\n<li><strong>558 children<\/strong> were reported abducted.<\/li>\n<li><strong>101 cases<\/strong> of missing children were reported.<\/li>\n<li><strong>49 newborn babies<\/strong> were reportedly abandoned by roadsides.<\/li>\n<li><strong>35 cases<\/strong> of child marriages were reported.<\/li>\n<li><strong>98 incidents<\/strong> involved alleged pornography following sexual abuse of children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The data shows that <strong>57% of child abuse cases were reported from urban areas<\/strong>, while <strong>43% originated from rural areas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the figures, in <strong>43% of cases, the alleged perpetrators were known to the affected children<\/strong>, while <strong>34% involved strangers<\/strong>.
