Khairpur (HRNW):<\/strong> The discovery of high-quality lithium reserves in Khairpur, Sindh, has raised hopes for the establishment of a local lithium industry in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

In this regard, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL)<\/strong> and the Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTECH)<\/strong> have signed an agreement to develop advanced technology for the commercial extraction of lithium.<\/p>\n

Under the agreement, modern techniques will be developed to extract high-quality lithium on a commercial scale from geothermal brine water<\/strong> obtained from a well located in Khairpur district of Sindh.<\/p>\n

Officials stated that the initiative aims to establish a scientific and industrial foundation for local lithium production, which could help Pakistan reduce dependence on imported lithium and utilize its own mineral resources in the future.<\/p>\n

Lithium is a key raw material used in modern technologies, particularly in electric vehicle batteries, energy storage systems, and various industrial applications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
