Attock (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2013 Pakistan’s Crime Control Department (CCD) has claimed to have safely recovered a girl who was allegedly kidnapped from Attock<\/strong> for a ransom of Rs. 50 million<\/strong>, while the alleged mastermind of the kidnapping was killed during a police operation in Haripur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to police, the victim, identified only as “M,” daughter of Zameer<\/strong>, was allegedly abducted from her home on 14 July 2026<\/strong>. Initially, Attock City Police Station<\/strong> registered a case under Section 365-B<\/strong> of the Pakistan Penal Code, treating it as an abduction.<\/p>\n

Authorities stated that a few days later, the victim’s family allegedly received a demand for Rs. 50 million<\/strong> in ransom for her release. Following the ransom demand, additional kidnapping-for-ransom provisions were added to the case, and the investigation was transferred to the Crime Control Department (CCD)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to CCD officials, a team led by DSP Yasir Matloob<\/strong> conducted a raid in Haripur<\/strong> on Wednesday evening to apprehend the alleged prime suspect, Zargham<\/strong>. Police said an exchange of fire took place during the operation, resulting in the suspect’s death.<\/p>\n

Authorities further stated that information provided during the operation led investigators to a second location, where the kidnapped girl was recovered safely.<\/p>\n

Police also claimed to have identified the alleged local network of the Zargham gang<\/strong> operating in Attock. Special teams have been formed to arrest other suspected members of the group, and further investigations are underway.<\/p>\n

At the time of publication, no statement had been issued by the suspects’ families or legal representatives. The police account of the encounter and the allegations have not been independently verified.<\/p>\n
