Karachi (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2013 A major development has emerged in the alleged financial irregularities case involving the BRT Yellow Line project<\/strong>, as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi<\/strong> has started an investigation following the provincial Anti-Corruption Department\u2019s inquiry.<\/p>\n

According to NAB sources, the bureau is investigating alleged advance payments amounting to Rs. 8.5 billion<\/strong> made in connection with the Yellow Line project.<\/p>\n

Sources said that the NAB Chairman has directed the Director General NAB Karachi to conduct a detailed inquiry<\/strong> into the matter.<\/p>\n

NAB officials will examine the advance payments made in the BRT Yellow Line project<\/strong>, including how the funds were utilized and what work was completed after the payments were released.<\/p>\n

According to sources, the investigation will review whether the required development work was carried out after the advance payments and identify any discrepancies or delays.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention that former Project Director of the BRT Yellow Line, Zamir Abbasi<\/strong>, has already been arrested in the case. He was taken into custody by the provincial Anti-Corruption Department from Lahore.<\/p>\n

Sources stated that the Anti-Corruption Court had rejected Zamir Abbasi\u2019s bail application. The Anti-Corruption Department\u2019s investigation is ongoing; however, the challan in the case has not yet been submitted.<\/p>\n
