Islamabad (HRNW):<\/strong> Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, has challenged Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to a public debate.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Tahir Ashrafi said that, unfortunately, every few months certain individuals from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) launch a new campaign of allegations, after which ordinary party workers also become part of the campaign.<\/p>\n

He said that his organization has always instructed its workers not to respond to such behavior with abuse or offensive language, but to maintain patience, ethics, and dignity.<\/p>\n

Ashrafi appealed to Maulana Fazlur Rehman to either advise his party workers to adopt a respectful and civilized approach or nominate a representative for a direct discussion.<\/p>\n

He said the matter could be discussed live on any television channel before the public, covering the role, services, commitments, and positions of different figures regarding Islam, Pakistan, and national interests from the 1977 Nizam-e-Mustafa Movement<\/strong> to the present day.<\/p>\n

Ashrafi further stated that the public should also know who remained part of various governments, who played roles in the corridors of power, and what positions were taken by different leaders at important moments.<\/p>\n

He said the decision should ultimately be left to the people, as the nation has the ability to distinguish between truth and falsehood, honesty and accusations, as well as public service and personal interests.<\/p>\n
