Karachi (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2014 Inspector General of Police Sindh Javed Alam Odho chaired a high\u2011level meeting on restructuring various wings of Sindh Police at the Central Police Office in Karachi, with senior officials from multiple departments in attendance.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by additional IGPs for CTD and Special Branch, DIGs Headquarters, Crime & Investigation, Establishment, IT, CIA, Training, other AIGs and SSP Media & Public Relations. Additional IGPs and the DIG Crime & Investigation provided detailed briefings on structure, restructuring, capacity and planned reform initiatives within their respective units.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the meeting, IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho said phased adoption of modern technology is essential to bring Sindh Police up to contemporary standards. He stressed that alongside technological adoption there will be a greater need for skill\u2011based officers and staff and that restructuring is necessary to ensure recruitment, training and capacity building meet those needs.<\/p>\n

IG Odho ordered the formation of a high\u2011level committee comprising additional IGPs and other senior officers to prepare a comprehensive report on restructuring, training, capacity building and related reforms across departments. The committee will review proposed reforms and consolidate recommendations from all units with the aim of aligning Sindh Police restructuring to international standards.<\/p>\n

The IG said establishing stable service structures and clear career paths will improve service delivery and operational effectiveness. He added that modern technology, professional skills and institutional reforms are indispensable to meet evolving security challenges, and vowed to transform Sindh Police into a modern, effective, public\u2011facing law\u2011enforcement body that meets international norms.<\/p>\n
