Islamabad, Pakistan (HRNW):<\/strong> The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with financial support from the European Union, has launched Pakistan’s first Rule of Law Forum<\/strong>, bringing together senior judges, government representatives, legal experts, civil society organizations, academics, development partners, and human rights advocates to discuss the future of accessible, inclusive, and people-centred justice in the country. The initiative marks an important step toward strengthening justice sector reforms and improving access to legal services for all citizens.<\/p>\n

The forum was organized under the EU-funded Deliver Justice Project<\/strong>, a programme designed to support justice sector modernization, institutional reforms, and improved public confidence in legal institutions. Participants explored emerging issues that are increasingly shaping justice systems, including climate justice, commercial justice, digital transformation, and the growing role of artificial intelligence within judicial processes.<\/p>\n

The event brought together representatives from Pakistan’s judiciary, government ministries, bar associations, universities, civil society organizations, and international development agencies. Discussions focused on improving coordination among institutions while ensuring that justice systems remain transparent, efficient, inclusive, and responsive to the evolving needs of society.<\/p>\n
