Balakot (HRNW):<\/strong>The remains of a child who went missing during the devastating 8 October 2005 earthquake<\/strong> in Balakot have been recovered after 21 years, bringing back painful memories of one of Pakistan\u2019s worst natural disasters.<\/p>\n

According to the family, five-year-old Jamal Shafiq<\/strong> went missing during the earthquake. His father, Qari Shafiq ur Rehman<\/strong>, said that they continued searching for their son for several months after the disaster, but his body could not be found at the time.<\/p>\n

The family stated that the remains were discovered from a pile of debris during reconstruction work on their house, after which they identified the child.<\/p>\n

Qari Shafiq ur Rehman said that his son had been buried under the rubble during the 2005 earthquake and that, despite the grief, the family is thankful to Allah for finally finding his remains after so many years.<\/p>\n

The child\u2019s uncle, Habib ur Rehman<\/strong>, said that the discovery once again revived the painful memories of the tragic earthquake.<\/p>\n

The 2005 earthquake<\/strong> remains one of Pakistan\u2019s deadliest natural disasters, causing widespread destruction in Balakot and other affected areas and resulting in the deaths of thousands of people.<\/p>\n
