Tehran (HRNW)-\u00a0Iran has strongly condemned the latest US military strikes on its territory, stating that the attacks have rendered months of diplomatic efforts meaningless and significantly increased regional tensions.<\/p>\n
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding a ceasefire with the United States has expired. He claimed that Iran had not violated the agreement, while alleging that the United States had repeatedly failed to fulfill its obligations. Baghai added that Iran would not implement the MoU unless the other side honored its commitments.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry described the recent US attacks as a violation of the UN Charter, international law, and the principles of state sovereignty, warning that the strikes pose a serious threat to both regional and global peace and security.<\/p>\n
The statement came after US Central Command announced another round of military operations against Iranian targets, saying the strikes were intended to further reduce Iran\u2019s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n
Tehran rejected the US justification, accusing Washington of undermining diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability in West Asia over recent months.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Ministry also alleged that US military involvement in the Strait of Hormuz had disrupted regional security measures and contributed to instability in one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.<\/p>\n
According to Iranian officials, the continued US military presence and operations have negatively affected international commercial shipping, creating new risks for global trade and regional security.<\/p>\n
