Karachi (HRNW)-\u00a0The 59th death anniversary of Mother of the Nation, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, is being observed with devotion and respect across the country today.<\/p>\n
On the occasion of the death anniversary, political, social and public circles are paying tribute to the unparalleled services of the Mother of the Nation in the Pakistan Movement and national building.<\/p>\n
Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was born on July 31, 1893, in Karachi. She was a dental surgeon by profession, but she dedicated her life to the rights of the Muslims of the subcontinent, the freedom movement and later to serving Pakistan.<\/p>\n
During the Pakistan Movement, she played an important role alongside her brother Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and mobilized the Muslim women of the subcontinent to participate fully in the freedom struggle. In recognition of her valuable services, the nation bestowed upon her the title of \u201cMother of the Nation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Even after the establishment of Pakistan, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah continued her vigorous struggle for democracy, the supremacy of the Constitution, public rights and the welfare of women. She is considered one of the most influential women leaders in the history of Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah passed away on July 9, 1967, at the age of 73 in Karachi. She was laid to rest beside her brother Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at the Mazar-e-Quaid.<\/p>\n
Today, various ceremonies, prayer gatherings and condolence meetings are being organized across the country to honor her remarkable national, political and social contributions.<\/p>\n
