Karachi (HRNW):<\/strong> During proceedings on a petition filed against the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) in the Sindh High Court, concerns were reportedly raised regarding the recruitment process and the alleged deviation from merit-based selection.<\/p>\n

According to the petitioner, the court observed that the primary responsibility of the SPSC is to select candidates for government positions on the basis of merit and competence. However, it was alleged that in some cases, candidates who scored well in written examinations were declared unsuccessful in interviews.<\/p>\n

The petitioner further alleged irregularities in appointments within the Social Welfare Department, claiming that selections were made on the basis of favoritism rather than merit. As an example, it was stated that a candidate who secured the 117th position in the written examination was adjusted at the last position under open merit.<\/p>\n

The petitioner has requested the Sindh High Court to order an investigation into recruitment conducted during 2024 and 2025 through the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) or the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), in order to ensure transparency and accountability in the process.<\/p>\n

It was also stated that the petitioner\u2019s legal team intends to obtain interview recordings and videos related to appointments in the Social Welfare Department through the Right to Information (RTI) Act and present them before the public.<\/p>\n
