Lahore (HRNW):<\/strong> Torrential rains, flash floods, and lightning strikes have caused widespread devastation across Pakistan, leaving at least 14 people dead<\/strong> and dozens injured<\/strong>. Heavy rainfall disrupted normal life in several provinces, inundating low-lying areas, damaging homes and infrastructure, and triggering multiple weather-related emergencies.<\/p>\n

In Swat<\/strong>, a tourist boat capsized in Saifullah Lake<\/strong>, claiming the lives of six tourists from the same family. Rescue teams recovered the bodies, while the search for one missing woman remained underway.<\/p>\n

In Attock<\/strong>, three people, including two brothers, were killed and five others injured in separate incidents involving the collapse of walls and roofs. In Landi Kotal<\/strong>, two children lost their lives and four people were injured after being struck by lightning. In Upper Dir<\/strong>, lightning injured 20 female students at a religious seminary.<\/p>\n

In Zhob<\/strong>, Balochistan, a woman and a child were killed when roofs collapsed during heavy rain, while another man died after being struck by lightning in Ganjial Qaidabad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In Abbottabad<\/strong>, three people were injured after their vehicle was swept away by a rain-fed stream. In Mardan<\/strong>, two children were among three people injured when a signboard and a wall collapsed during the storm.<\/p>\n

Heavy rainfall in Islamabad<\/strong>, Rawalpindi<\/strong>, and Lahore<\/strong> brought relief from the intense summer heat, but also caused power outages as multiple electricity feeders tripped. Significant rainfall was also reported in Attock<\/strong>, Pindi Bhattian<\/strong>, Mandi Bahauddin<\/strong>, Sargodha<\/strong>, Bhera<\/strong>, Hafizabad<\/strong>, Kasur<\/strong>, Muridke<\/strong>, and Gujrat<\/strong>, where water accumulated in low-lying areas.<\/p>\n

In Haripur<\/strong>, swollen streams overflowed, flooding roads, while Abbottabad<\/strong> experienced severe urban flooding, with rainwater entering shops after roads turned into waterlogged pools.<\/p>\n

Rain was also recorded in Khuzdar<\/strong>, Zhob<\/strong>, and Kohlu<\/strong>, while Swabi<\/strong> experienced rainfall accompanied by hailstorms. In Karachi<\/strong>, cloudy weather prevailed, with light showers reported in New Karachi<\/strong>, Gulshan-e-Memar<\/strong>, and Gadap<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, monsoon rains triggered flash flooding in the villages of Gais Bala<\/strong>, Gais Pain<\/strong>, and Niat Valley<\/strong> in Diamer<\/strong>, Gilgit-Baltistan. Floodwaters damaged access roads and entered residential homes, disrupting daily life in the affected communities.<\/p>\n
