Speaking to the state news agency IRNA, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghai said that Tehran and Washington have not yet reached the stage of formal negotiations on a final or comprehensive agreement.<\/p>\n
Baghai dismissed reports suggesting that the current diplomatic engagements constitute official negotiations for a final deal. He said that describing the ongoing contacts as formal negotiations is inaccurate.<\/p>\n
According to the spokesperson, any progress toward a comprehensive agreement will depend on future diplomatic engagements and mutual decisions taken by both sides.<\/p>\n
His remarks come amid recent reports regarding diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States, the implementation of a memorandum of understanding, and discussions at the technical level.
