Karachi (HRNW)<\/a><\/strong> On the event of MQM gathering in Malir, Dr. Farooq Sattar expressed deep concern over the growing problems in Karachi, emphasizing that Pakistan was built on the sacrifices of our forefathers. He stated that MQM holds the solutions for the issues faced by urban areas of Sindh, and people of all communities in Karachi look to MQM with hope.<\/p>\n

Addressing the public, Dr. Sattar asked, \u201cShould we live with our heads held high or bowed down? Should we wear the chains of slavery or break them?\u201d<\/em> He stressed the need to distinguish between oppressors and the oppressed and cautioned that even the patience of the oppressed can sometimes be stretched too far.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the city\u2019s dire conditions, stating, \u201cHomes in Karachi lack proper water supply, and streets are flooded with sewer water.\u201d<\/em> He called on citizens to stand against injustice.<\/p>\n

Dr. Sattar also pointed out the city\u2019s financial imbalance: Karachi contributes Rs 16,000 billion in taxes but has only received Rs 50 billion so far. He announced that water from K-IV will reach Karachi next year. According to him, there are four possible solutions: resolving urban issues at the local level, devolving power to lower authorities, or otherwise, citizens may be forced to take to the streets.<\/p>\n

He announced a movement for Sindh\u2019s cities, demanding accountability for Rs 25,000 billion allocated to Sindh and Rs 5,000 billion to the Mayor. He warned, \u201cIf nothing is done for Karachi, hand it over to the federal government.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Dr. Sattar clarified that MQM is not advocating separating Karachi from Sindh but proposes creating administrative provinces over six divisions to improve governance. He criticized feudal lords, saying, \u201cWaderas and jagirdars are obstacles to Pakistan\u2019s progress.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
