Karachi (HRNW)-\u00a0<\/strong>The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P)<\/strong> has formally raised concerns over the alleged activities of land grabbers and reported police excesses in Karachi, with Sindh Assembly Member Arsalan Pervez<\/strong> writing a letter to the Sindh Home Minister<\/strong> seeking immediate intervention.<\/p>\n

According to the letter, residents of Ghausia Cooperative Housing Society, Sector 27-A, Scheme 33<\/strong>, have been facing serious difficulties for the past one and a half years due to the alleged misconduct of certain police personnel, abuse of authority, coercive actions, and the activities of an alleged land mafia.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker stated that numerous complaints regarding the matter had already been submitted to Sachal Police Station<\/strong>, the DIG East<\/strong>, the Inspector General of Sindh Police<\/strong>, and other relevant authorities. However, he claimed that no effective or satisfactory action had been taken against the alleged land grabbers.<\/p>\n

The letter further states that residents have alleged that whenever they questioned police personnel about the basis of their actions, they were reportedly told that the operations were being carried out under the instructions of the Sindh Home Minister.<\/p>\n

Arsalan Pervez wrote that if these claims are false, then the Home Minister’s name is allegedly being misused to justify unlawful actions. If the claims are true, he said, an official explanation is necessary regarding whether the actions are being conducted under the directives of the Home Department.<\/p>\n

The MQM-P lawmaker urged the Sindh Home Minister to order an immediate, transparent, and impartial inquiry into the allegations and ensure that appropriate legal action is taken against anyone found responsible, including those allegedly involved in illegal land occupation or misuse of official authority.<\/p>\n

At the time of publication, no official response from the Sindh Home Department, Sindh Police, or other concerned authorities had been issued regarding the allegations contained in the letter.<\/p>\n
