Lahore (HRNW)-\u00a0<\/strong>A case has been registered over the alleged abduction of Zameer Abbasi<\/strong>, Director of the Karachi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project and a senior government officer, following his reported disappearance from Lahore. The First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged under kidnapping provisions at Defence-C Police Station, Lahore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The FIR was filed by the victim’s father, Muhammad Panah<\/strong>, son of Badal Khan, who alleged that his son was forcibly taken away by armed men.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, Zameer Abbasi, a government officer of Deputy Commissioner rank currently serving as Director of the Karachi BRT Project, had travelled to Lahore a few days earlier for personal engagements and was staying in DHA Phase 8<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

His father alleged that on June 12, 2026<\/strong>, approximately 15 to 20 unidentified men<\/strong> arrived at the residence. According to the FIR, some of the individuals were dressed in police uniforms while others wore plain clothes with their faces covered by masks and cloth. The complainant alleged that the armed men forcibly took his son at gunpoint, placed him in vehicles, and drove away.<\/p>\n

The FIR further states that despite several days having passed since the incident, Zameer Abbasi has neither been produced before any court nor returned home, leaving the family in severe distress and uncertainty.<\/p>\n

The complainant also disclosed that a constitutional petition<\/strong> has been filed before the Lahore High Court<\/strong>, seeking the recovery of his son and judicial intervention regarding his alleged enforced disappearance.<\/p>\n

The father has requested authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, identify those responsible, initiate legal proceedings against them, and ensure the immediate and safe recovery of his son.<\/p>\n

At the time of publication, no official statement from the relevant law enforcement agencies regarding the allegations contained in the FIR had been made public.<\/p>\n
