Islamabad (HRNW)-\u00a0Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that progress in the Iran-US talks would not have been possible without the efforts and leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.<\/p>\n
In a statement posted on the social networking platform X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the successful conclusion of the first high-level committee meeting held in B\u00fcrgenstock, Switzerland, as part of the ongoing dialogue process between Iran and the United States.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said that the meeting resulted in an agreement to develop a roadmap aimed at reaching a final agreement within 60 days. He added that a high-level committee for political oversight had been established and further technical negotiations would also begin.<\/p>\n
According to Shehbaz Sharif, the first high-level committee meeting held under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concluded successfully in a positive and constructive atmosphere, with encouraging progress achieved during the discussions.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister appreciated the leadership of both the United States and Iran for their commitment to constructive engagement and thanked all friendly and brotherly countries that supported the advancement of this historic diplomatic process.<\/p>\n
He particularly acknowledged the role of Qatar, stating that its efforts were instrumental in creating a favorable environment for dialogue. He also thanked the Swiss government for hosting and facilitating the talks.<\/p>\n
Paying tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Prime Minister said that his tireless efforts, determination and steadfast commitment played a crucial role in the success of the negotiations. He emphasized that the progress achieved would not have been possible without the Field Marshal\u2019s contributions.<\/p>\n
Shehbaz Sharif also praised the diplomatic efforts of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Office team, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for their important role in advancing the peace process.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s commitment to continuing its sincere and constructive role in promoting peace, dialogue and diplomacy for the sustainable and peaceful resolution of international disputes.<\/p>\n
