Karachi (HRNW):<\/strong> The investigation into the alleged \u201cpen bomb blast\u201d incident in Khokhrapar has revealed that the reported explosion was false and misleading.<\/p>\n

Police sources said that the young man involved was taken into protective custody after admitting in a video statement that he had lied about the incident.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, the youth did not find any explosive device. Instead, he had brought a firecracker for his sister\u2019s birthday celebration, which accidentally exploded in his hand while being ignited, causing injuries.<\/p>\n

Officials stated that the firecracker was purchased from a market in Malir and the incident occurred near a cattle pen area close to the Model Colony railway track.<\/p>\n

Investigators also obtained video evidence recorded from the mobile phone of the victim\u2019s cousin, clearly showing the firecracker bursting in his hand.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the injured youth had claimed that he found a shiny pen-like object on the roadside in Model Colony, and that it exploded when he picked it up and pressed it.<\/p>\n

The injured person, identified as Abdul Sami<\/strong>, works at a departmental store near Model Colony and is a resident of New Karachi. Police recorded statements from him and his mother at the hospital after the incident was reported.<\/p>\n

Doctors confirmed that the victim suffered a deep cut on one side of his hand along with a fractured finger.<\/p>\n

Police have registered a case at Khokhrapar police station against the youth for misleading authorities and spreading false information.<\/p>\n
