Karachi (HRNW):<\/strong> The Sindh High Court heard a case regarding the custody of children of a Pakistani-origin American ex-couple.<\/p>\n

The court issued notices to the mother of the children currently residing in Pakistan and adjourned the hearing for four weeks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The petition has been filed by the children\u2019s father, Ashar Ali<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the petitioner\u2019s lawyer, both parents separated in the United States, where custody of the children was initially granted to the mother.<\/p>\n

Advocate Adnan Khatti<\/strong> stated that under a U.S. court arrangement, the father was also granted scheduled visitation rights, including custody from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm daily.<\/p>\n

He further alleged that after some time, the mother, Fiza Farid<\/strong>, brought the children to Pakistan without informing the father.<\/p>\n

The lawyer argued that bringing the children to Pakistan violated U.S. court orders, and the father learned about the relocation through the embassy.<\/p>\n

It was also stated in the petition that investigations are underway in the United States against Fiza Farid in connection with alleged fraud involving healthcare exports during the COVID-19 period.<\/p>\n

The petition claims that she may have traveled to Pakistan via Mexico and that the case falls under the Hague Convention<\/strong>, which supports the return of children to their country of habitual residence.<\/p>\n

Pakistan is also a signatory to the Hague Convention.<\/p>\n

The case involves two children: 7-year-old Anaya and 5-year-old Ali<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
