Karachi (HRNW):<\/strong> MQM Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui<\/strong> has said that 19 June 1992 represents one of the darkest chapters in Pakistan\u2019s history, alleging \u201cMohajir genocide\u201d and an attack on the public mandate of urban Sindh.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued from Nine Zero (Bahauddinabad)<\/strong> on the completion of 34 years of the 1992 operation, he said the day is not merely a date but a symbol of \u201cviolence and fascism\u201d that targeted the \u201ceducated and constitutional citizens and descendants of the founding fathers of Pakistan.\u201d<\/p>\n

He alleged that Operation Clean-Up<\/strong> was not aimed at restoring peace and order, but was intended to protect feudal political structures and suppress the political voice of urban Sindh.<\/p>\n

Dr. Siddiqui claimed that Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Mirpurkhas were subjected to a \u201cviolent crackdown,\u201d which he described as an attack on Pakistan\u2019s economic backbone. He said the operation was a conspiracy to remove middle-class political leadership that challenged powerful elites.<\/p>\n

He further alleged that more than 15,000 MQM workers were killed in extra-judicial encounters<\/strong>, thousands were forcibly disappeared, and many families were socially and economically devastated.<\/p>\n

He also said that \u201cpuppet factions\u201d were created under state influence to divide the genuine mandate of urban Sindh, and that attempts to impose artificial leadership have continued over time.<\/p>\n

Dr. Siddiqui stated that history shows that whenever oppression intensified, MQM workers\u2019 resolve became stronger. He added that while the party is willing to move forward in the national mainstream and forget past grievances, it will never compromise on the sacrifices of its martyrs and missing workers.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that Karachi is vital for Pakistan\u2019s survival and argued that without recognition of the constitutional, political, and economic rights of urban Sindh, national stability cannot be achieved.<\/p>\n

He paid tribute to the martyrs of the party and expressed hope that despite prolonged darkness, the \u201csun of justice will eventually rise from this land.<\/p>\n
