Islamabad (HRNW)-\u00a0On the occasion of Muharram-ul-Haram, the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has issued a unanimous declaration strongly rejecting sectarianism, hatred, extremism, and violence, while emphasizing national unity, tolerance, and interfaith harmony.<\/p>\n
According to the declaration, issued under the framework of the Paigham-e-Pakistan narrative, there is no room for violence, provocation, vigilantism, or taking the law into one’s own hands against any individual or group. The Council reiterated that Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, and respect for humanity.<\/p>\n
The declaration stressed the importance of respecting all schools of thought and promoting mutual tolerance as a national necessity. It also called upon citizens to uphold national security, the Constitution, and the rule of law, while discouraging hate speech and provocative narratives in society.<\/p>\n
The Council urged the younger generation to adopt moderation, moral values, and a spirit of national unity. It further emphasized that differences of opinion should be expressed within the bounds of decency, dialogue, and constitutional principles, stating that peace, unity, and tolerance are essential for Pakistan\u2019s progress and stability.<\/p>\n
Addressing the annual National Interfaith Harmony Conference, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that the conference had issued a comprehensive code of conduct regarding Muharram-ul-Haram.<\/p>\n
According to the conference declaration, disrespect toward the Companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Mothers of the Believers, and the Ahlul Bayt was declared a grave sin. The declaration also condemned the practice of declaring any Muslim sect outside the fold of Islam.<\/p>\n
Sardar Yousaf said that Pakistan has not only worked to maintain peace and harmony within the country but has also contributed to peace efforts at the international level. He praised the country’s leadership for its role in promoting peace and strengthening Pakistan’s image globally.<\/p>\n
The minister emphasized that unity, tolerance, and mutual respect remain key elements for maintaining harmony during Muharram and throughout the year.<\/p>\n
