Karachi (HRNW):<\/strong> Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah<\/strong> has acknowledged that the provincial government is facing severe financial constraints, stating that any increase in salaries for government employees will depend on the province\u2019s available fiscal capacity.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, the Chief Minister said the Sindh government must carefully assess its financial resources before deciding how much of an increase in salaries and pensions can be accommodated in the upcoming budget.<\/p>\n

Defending his administration\u2019s performance, Murad Ali Shah stated that despite significant financial challenges, the Sindh government had completed six major development projects within the past six months. He said these projects were executed with the support and collaboration of international financial institutions.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also criticized previous federal governments, saying that the people of Sindh and Karachi are now fully aware of their rights. He noted that large financial commitments had been announced in the past but were never fully implemented.<\/p>\n

According to Murad Ali Shah, the current federal budget has allocated Rs 64 billion<\/strong> for key development projects in Sindh.<\/p>\n

Discussing infrastructure development, he announced that construction work on the long-awaited Hyderabad\u2013Sukkur Motorway<\/strong> is expected to begin in January next year and is projected to be completed within three and a half years.<\/p>\n

Addressing the water shortage issue, the Chief Minister revealed that Sindh is currently facing a 41 percent shortfall in its water share<\/strong>. He said a formal protest letter has been sent to the federal government regarding the matter.<\/p>\n

On the issue of government employees\u2019 salaries, Murad Ali Shah reiterated that the final decision would be made after evaluating the province\u2019s financial position and budgetary resources.<\/p>\n
