In an interview with the New York Times, President Trump said that Iran would be allowed to continue uranium enrichment solely for non-military purposes and that the restriction on military-related enrichment would be permanent.<\/p>\n
When asked whether the proposed limit would be similar to the 3.67 percent enrichment cap established under the 2015 nuclear agreement, Trump did not specify a percentage but reiterated that any enrichment would be limited to peaceful uses.<\/p>\n
The US president also indicated that sanctions relief could be affected by Iran\u2019s future domestic actions. He stated that if Iranian authorities were to take severe action against anti-government protesters, Tehran might not receive full sanctions relief. However, reports suggest that this condition is not formally included in the proposed memorandum of understanding.<\/p>\n
Trump also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a difficult partner and arguing that Israel should recognize the support provided by the United States.<\/p>\n
According to Trump, if Iran were ever to acquire nuclear weapons, it would pose a serious threat to Israel\u2019s security. He further claimed that Israeli military actions in Lebanon complicated diplomatic efforts and created obstacles during critical stages of negotiations with Tehran.<\/p>\n
