Islamabad (HRNW)-\u00a0Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that if the level of coordination between Rawalpindi and Islamabad had existed throughout the past 75 years as it does today, Pakistan could have achieved many important milestones.<\/p>\n
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, the Defense Minister said that Pakistan had faced significant challenges over the past year and praised the country’s armed forces for their role in safeguarding national interests.<\/p>\n
Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan is not only confronting security challenges but is also engaged in a struggle on the economic front. He emphasized that the fight against terrorism can only be won if the entire nation stands united.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a war of 250 million people,\u201d he said, calling for national unity and collective efforts to address security and economic challenges facing the country.<\/p>\n
The Defense Minister also appreciated what he described as growing international recognition of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and thanked the American leadership for its engagement on regional issues. He said Pakistan is receiving a level of international respect that he believes is unprecedented in the country’s history.<\/p>\n
Referring to regional developments, Khawaja Asif urged Muslim countries to reduce their differences and work together to support the people of Gaza and Palestine. He also congratulated the Iranian people on their resilience and expressed hope that regional unity would contribute to resolving broader issues facing the Muslim world.<\/p>\n
The minister praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the country’s military leadership, saying that recent diplomatic efforts had produced positive results. He remarked that stronger cooperation between civilian and military institutions has played an important role in addressing national and international challenges.<\/p>\n
Khawaja Asif concluded by expressing hope that continued unity, coordination, and consensus would help Pakistan overcome its economic and security challenges and strengthen its position on the global stage.<\/p>\n
