Islamabad (HRNW) \u2013 Pakistan\u2019s Foreign Office has categorically rejected India\u2019s comments regarding the upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, describing them as baseless and without legal or moral justification.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that India\u2019s remarks were an attempt to distort facts and promote misleading narratives. The spokesperson added that such statements have no legal or moral standing and do not change the realities on the ground.<\/p>\n
The statement emphasized that elections in Gilgit-Baltistan are an internal matter of Pakistan and that the people of the region have the constitutional and democratic right to freely elect their representatives through a transparent electoral process.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Office urged India to respect international law and diplomatic norms instead of making what it described as irresponsible statements concerning Pakistan\u2019s internal affairs.<\/p>\n
Reaffirming Pakistan\u2019s position, the spokesperson said the country remains committed to strengthening democratic institutions and processes in all its regions while safeguarding the rights and aspirations of its citizens.<\/p>\n
