QUETTA (HRNW)<\/b> \u2013 Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced the complete eradication of “Tat Culture” (sitting on floor mats) across all functional government schools in the province, deciding that desks will be provided for students in every school. In this regard, immediate and effective directives have been issued to the Secretary of the Schools Education Department.<\/p>\n

During a high-level meeting chaired by Mir Sarfraz Bugti, major reformative measures were approved for the education, health, and law and order sectors. The meeting achieved consensus on a comprehensive reform agenda to upgrade these three vital sectors in the upcoming fiscal year’s budget.<\/p>\n

To boost the literacy rate across the province, the meeting decided to initiate a double-shift teaching system in 900 government schools. Furthermore, a substantial increase in the long-standing fixed salaries of NCHD (National Commission for Human Development) teachers was also agreed upon.<\/p>\n

It was further decided that an approved standardized reading and writing material will be introduced in Balochistan’s government schools, while additional classrooms will be constructed in 3,000 single-room schools across the province by next year. The Chief Secretary of Balochistan provided a detailed briefing to the meeting regarding the implementation of these initiatives.<\/p>\n

Expressing his dismay, the Chief Minister of Balochistan remarked that while the world has progressed immensely, it is deeply regrettable that children in Balochistan are still acquiring education while sitting on floor mats. He made it clear that no child will sit on the floor anymore, and every student in every school will be provided with a desk.<\/p>\n

Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced that he would personally evaluate schools in remote areas and conduct surprise inspections via helicopter in mountainous and far-flung regions. He warned that after the stipulated deadline, if any child is found sitting on a floor mat, strict disciplinary action will be initiated against the responsible authorities.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister emphasized that fostering self-confidence and self-esteem among children is the need of the hour, and the provincial government will take practical and sustainable steps to ensure it.<\/p>\n
