ISLAMABAD (HRNW)<\/b> \u2013 On the occasion of World Environment Day, renowned environmentalist and Chairperson of Subh-e-Nau, Shahida Kausar Farooq, has urged for immediate and collective action to tackle the growing environmental challenges in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

She stated that despite contributing minimally to global carbon emissions, Pakistan remains among the countries most severely impacted by climate change. Rising temperatures, frequent floods, water scarcity, deforestation, and air pollution have become grave threats to public health, livelihoods, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

Shahida Kausar Farooq emphasized that World Environment Day serves as a critical reminder that environmental protection is not the sole responsibility of governments. Instead, every citizen, institution, and community must play an active role in conserving natural resources to secure a safe future for coming generations.<\/p>\n

She appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir to take urgent measures against the threats of climate change. She highlighted that robust environmental policies, forest conservation, responsible water management, reduction of plastic pollution, and investment in renewable energy are the need of the hour.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, she underscored the immense importance of involving the youth, educational institutions, civil society, and the private sector in environmental initiatives. Concluding her message, she appealed to all stakeholders to translate awareness into practical efforts and launch a joint struggle to build a greener, healthier, and climate-resilient Pakistan.<\/p>\n
