LAHORE (HRNW)<\/b> \u2013 The agricultural reforms and farmer-friendly policies introduced under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif have begun yielding highly positive results, steering the province into a new era of modern agricultural mechanization.<\/p>\n

The promotion of modern farming practices across the province is gaining momentum through the provision of green tractors, high-tech combined harvesters, and super seeders. Multiple projects are actively underway to ensure that growers have easy access to state-of-the-art agricultural machinery.<\/p>\n

Under the Chief Minister’s Green Tractor Scheme, a subsidy of PKR 1 million per tractor is being provided on 9,500 high-power tractors. In tandem, 10,000 tractors ranging from 50 to 65 horsepower are being distributed to farmers with a subsidy of PKR 500,000 each. Furthermore, the Chief Minister has already issued directives to distribute a total of 20,000 green tractors to farmers in the upcoming fiscal year.<\/p>\n

In the new fiscal year, the subsidy will be enhanced to PKR 1.5 million for high-horsepower tractors and PKR 750,000 for 50-to-65-horsepower tractors, offering substantial financial relief to small and medium-sized farmers.<\/p>\n

For the first time in Punjab’s history, an interest-free loan scheme of up to PKR 30 million has been introduced for the procurement of 12 different types of modern agricultural machinery. This scheme provides financial assistance on easy terms to empower farmers to purchase technologically advanced agricultural implements.<\/p>\n

As a direct result of these government initiatives, approximately 200 high-tech combined harvesters have been delivered to farmers through interest-free loans. Additionally, 50 modern combined harvesters were utilized for the first time during the wheat harvesting season, ensuring timely and highly efficient crop harvesting.<\/p>\n

To combat environmental pollution and discourage the practice of burning crop residue, the Punjab government distributed 5,000 super seeders among rice growers. Utilizing this super seeder technology, rice cultivation was successfully completed across 1.4 million acres of land for the first time, yielding outstanding environmental and agricultural benefits.<\/p>\n
