KARACHI: (HRNW)-<\/strong> Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Karachi Division Senior Vice President and Chairman of Saddar Town, Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh, on Thursday termed the restrictions on meetings between PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan and his family members and personal physicians a \u201cserious violation of fundamental human rights.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement issued here, Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh said preventing a national political leader from meeting his family and personal medical practitioners was not only inhumane but also highly condemnable. He added that denying access to close relatives and doctors raised serious concerns regarding basic humanitarian and medical rights.<\/p>\n

Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh described Imran Khan as a leader who had raised his voice for the country\u2019s development, sovereignty and \u201ctrue freedom,\u201d alleging that he was now being punished for maintaining his principled stance. He claimed that the treatment being meted out to the former prime minister had deeply hurt public sentiments and created unrest among citizens.<\/p>\n

He further said that history showed leaders who stood for their nations did not bow to pressure or retaliatory measures. \u201cCountries progress through constitutional supremacy, rule of law, justice and respect for public mandate, not through political victimisation and denial of basic rights,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Expressing concern over the country\u2019s economic situation, Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh said inflation had reached alarming levels while a significant section of the population had fallen below the poverty line. He maintained that political vendettas instead of addressing public issues were not in the country\u2019s interest.
\nHe also stressed the need to respect the public mandate, warning that continued electoral manipulation and disregard for voters\u2019 will could hinder national progress.<\/p>\n

Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh demanded the immediate restoration of Imran Khan\u2019s meetings with his family and urged authorities to allow access to his personal physicians to ensure the provision of necessary medical care and basic facilities.<\/p>\n
