Jaipur (HRNW)- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that it may take several days to finalize a possible agreement with Iran, while US forces have also claimed fresh attacks in southern Iran amid ongoing regional tensions.<\/p>\n
According to foreign media reports, Marco Rubio told journalists in the Indian city of Jaipur that negotiations with Iran are continuing in Qatar and that both sides are actively discussing the language and points of the initial draft agreement.<\/p>\n
Rubio stated that the US president wants to reach an agreement, but only a deal that aligns with American interests will be accepted. He stressed that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open due to its critical importance for global trade and energy supplies.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, US Central Command claimed that American forces targeted missile launch sites and mine-laying boats in southern Iran. US officials said the operations were conducted to protect American troops.<\/p>\n
According to the US military statement, the strikes targeted locations allegedly involved in attempts to place naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n
Iranian state media reported explosions near Bandar Abbas, although the Iranian government has neither confirmed nor denied the US claims.<\/p>\n
At the same time, a fresh round of talks between Iranian negotiators and international officials is underway in Doha, Qatar.<\/p>\n
Reports suggest that discussions are focusing on key issues including the Strait of Hormuz, extending the ceasefire, Iran\u2019s enriched uranium reserves and the release of frozen Iranian assets.<\/p>\n
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqai said that detailed negotiations regarding the nuclear program will not begin until both sides agree on an initial framework agreement.<\/p>\n
It is worth noting that tensions between the United States and Iran continue to significantly affect the global oil market, Gulf security and international trade, while diplomatic efforts for a peaceful resolution remain ongoing.<\/p>\n
