Karachi (HRNW) \u2013 With only two days left for Eid-ul-Adha, the rush of buyers and traders in the livestock markets of various cities has reached its peak.<\/p>\n
Karachi\u2019s largest livestock market on the Northern Bypass is crowded with people looking for cheap animals, while traditional discussions and bargaining between traders and buyers are ongoing.<\/p>\n
Temporary livestock markets have been set up in small and big cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta. Buyers are flocking to the markets in the evening and night to escape the heat and buy the animals of their choice.<\/p>\n
Due to the holidays on Saturday and Sunday, citizens bought a large number of animals, but there are still animals in the markets and the flow of buyers is continuing. Many traders have sold their animals and returned home, but there are still a large number of animals in the markets and buyers are also coming continuously.<\/p>\n
Compared to last year, this year traders are trying to sell the animals at a lower profit instead of taking them back, due to which there has been some reduction in the rates compared to the previous days. However, despite this, the price hike continues.<\/p>\n
A goat, which was sold for 70 to 80 thousand rupees last year, has reached 125 thousand rupees this year, while the price of a large goat is between 200,000 and 250,000 rupees. The price of a cow has also reached 400,000 to 500,000 rupees instead of 200,000 to 250,000 rupees, which seems to be worrying buyers.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, traders say that due to inflation, increase in petrol, diesel and other expenses, animals are expensive this time, while buyers are trying to charge lower rates.<\/p>\n
