Washington (HRNW) \u2013 The American newspaper The Washington Post<\/em> has acknowledged that Pakistan\u2019s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir played a major role in reducing tensions between the United States and Iran and helping finalize the draft of a proposed peace agreement.<\/p>\n

According to the report, Field Marshal Asim Munir remained in continuous contact with the United States, Iran, and Gulf countries, playing a central role in rebuilding trust and facilitating dialogue between the parties.<\/p>\n

The report further stated that his recent visit to Iran helped pave the way for progress on the draft peace agreement and created a more favorable atmosphere for negotiations.<\/p>\n

Another American publication, The Washington Times<\/em>, claimed that major progress on the agreement draft was achieved on Saturday morning, with both sides moving closer to consensus while Field Marshal Asim Munir was visiting Iran.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, The New York Times<\/em> also described Asim Munir\u2019s visit as an example of high-level diplomacy and stated that Pakistan played an important role in creating understanding between Washington and Tehran.<\/p>\n

According to the report, Pakistan used backchannel diplomacy to help prevent a wider regional war and move the negotiation process forward.<\/p>\n

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had earlier confirmed that he remained in constant contact with Field Marshal Asim Munir and noted that a senior Pakistani figure was visiting Iran for important discussions.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that shortly after Field Marshal Asim Munir concluded his visit to Tehran, US President Donald Trump convened an emergency meeting of his National Security Team at the White House.<\/p>\n

Reports suggest President Trump is also expected to hold conference calls with leaders from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Egypt regarding regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts.<\/p>\n
