Karachi (HRNW) \u2013 The Sindh Cabinet has introduced large-scale legal and administrative reforms in the health sector by approving four important agenda items of the Health Department in a key meeting chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.<\/p>\n
The cabinet approved the draft bill of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) and National Institute of Child Health (NICH) Operation and Management Act 2025, paving the way for the formal transfer of administrative powers of both institutions to the Sindh government. New rules for the appointment and removal of executive directors were also approved, while a joint secretary of the federal health ministry will be included in the board.<\/p>\n
The Sindh Cabinet also approved the continuation of the EPADS tender system for uninterrupted supply of life-saving medicines and introduced the Sindh Postgraduate Residency Policy 2026 to establish a uniform postgraduate admission system in government medical institutions across the province.<\/p>\n
In addition, the cabinet approved the Sindh Safe Blood Transfusion Amendment Act 2026, introducing new eligibility criteria for senior positions in the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority and strengthening institutional continuity in the health sector.<\/p>\n
Authorities said these reforms are aimed at improving governance, transparency, medical education, and healthcare delivery throughout Sindh.<\/p>\n
