ISLAMABAD (HRNW) \u2013 Prince Rahim Aga Khan V held an important meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, where both sides discussed enhancing cooperation in various sectors.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a breakfast in honor of Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, who is on his first official visit to Pakistan. On the occasion, the Prime Minister warmly welcomed the guest and appreciated his commitment to promoting peace, stability and constructive engagement with governments and international partners.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). He praised AKDN\u2019s contributions in rural development, healthcare, education, disaster resilience, climate change adaptation, renewable energy, digital skills training and youth entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
He particularly appreciated the organization\u2019s work in remote and vulnerable communities of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of further expanding AKDN\u2019s partnership with Pakistan, especially in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, where the network\u2019s institutional presence and outreach are highly valued.<\/p>\n
He also welcomed greater collaboration with Aga Khan University and appreciated its leading role in healthcare and higher education.<\/p>\n
Acknowledging Prince Rahim Aga Khan V\u2019s support for environmental protection, the Prime Minister said AKDN is a reliable partner in Pakistan\u2019s efforts to strengthen climate resilience, particularly in northern regions facing glacier-related risks.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Prince Rahim Aga Khan V for visiting Pakistan and said the country would always remain his second home. He expressed hope that regular visits would further strengthen ties between Pakistan and the Ismaili community.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister also thanked Prince Rahim Aga Khan V for providing the Serena Hotel free of charge for the Islamabad Talks.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed heartfelt condolences on the passing of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV and paid tribute to his humanitarian services spanning nearly seven decades and his deep association with Pakistan.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, the Prime Minister also presented a commemorative stamp issued by Pakistan Post in recognition of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV\u2019s services to Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Prince Rahim Aga Khan V thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality and expressed his commitment to continuing cooperation with Pakistan in various fields of human development.<\/p>\n
