Quetta (HRNW)- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while chairing a meeting of the Balochistan Apex Committee on the National Action Plan in Quetta, directed authorities to further strengthen security arrangements for the Mineral Corridor.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir along with senior civil and military officials. The Prime Minister received a detailed briefing on Balochistan\u2019s security situation, development projects, governance reforms, and counter-terrorism measures.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the establishment of a special security corridor in Balochistan\u2019s Rakhshan Division through the deployment of Frontier Corps personnel. The plan includes additional FC wings, highway check posts, modern surveillance systems, and strengthened border posts.<\/p>\n
He said Pakistan is rich in mineral resources and emphasized that a secure environment in Balochistan is essential for attracting both foreign and local investment. The Prime Minister also appreciated the Balochistan government\u2019s measures based on merit and transparency.<\/p>\n
Officials informed the meeting that all institutions remain actively engaged in counter-terrorism efforts, while notable progress has also been achieved in the health and education sectors. According to the briefing, no polio case has been reported in Balochistan since November 2024.<\/p>\n
The meeting was also told that 99 percent of schools in the province are functional, while a solar energy project has benefited over 15,000 families and saved billions of rupees.<\/p>\n
Federal ministers, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, and other senior officials attended the session, and participants expressed complete consensus on security and development initiatives.<\/p>\n
