Lahore (HRNW)- The Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 across the province ahead of Eid-ul-Adha to protect human lives, maintain law and order, and improve environmental conditions.<\/p>\n
According to the notification, burning the remains of sacrificial animals in public places has been banned. Section 144 has also been imposed on swimming and bathing in rivers, lakes, canals, and dams.<\/p>\n
The notification further stated that throwing animal waste and dung into manholes, drains, or canals will be strictly prohibited, while the buying and selling of sacrificial animals will only be allowed in officially approved cattle markets.<\/p>\n
These restrictions will remain in effect from May 27 to June 2. According to the Home Department, the measures have been implemented under Section 144(6) of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1898.<\/p>\n
The announcement also clarified that banned organizations will not be allowed to collect sacrificial hides during Eid-ul-Adha, while only organizations registered with the Punjab Charity Commission will be permitted to receive hides.<\/p>\n
According to the spokesperson, the administration and law enforcement agencies will ensure strict implementation of these directives to maintain public safety and sanitation systems across the province.<\/p>\n
