Karachi (HRNW)- Chairman of the Muhajir Qaumi Movement (Pakistan), Afaq Ahmed, has said that he stands with the business community in every difficult time and will not support any constitutional amendment unless civil rights are protected.<\/p>\n
During a visit to the Sarafa Bazaar and a meeting with traders, he strongly condemned the alleged mistreatment of the business community by a sensitive institution in recent days, as well as an incident of violence against a trader in front of his son.<\/p>\n
Afaq Ahmed stated that the business community is the backbone of the national economy and contributes significantly to tax revenue, stressing that they must be given respect and full protection so that capital remains within the country and strengthens the domestic economy.<\/p>\n
He said that concrete measures are needed to improve law and order and the business environment in Karachi, while also criticizing PPP policies, saying that certain decisions are affecting efforts to revive the economy.<\/p>\n
He further remarked that it is unfortunate for the city that criminals, police, and judges are all \u201cnon-locals,\u201d which he claimed is worsening the situation.<\/p>\n
Regarding the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment, he said his party would not support it unless it includes protection of Sindh\u2019s citizens and their rights. He added that providing basic facilities and justice to citizens should remain the top priority.<\/p>\n
