Islamabad (HRNW)- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that ministries demonstrating better performance will be given priority in the allocation of the upcoming development budget.<\/p>\n
The statement was made during a high-level review meeting chaired by the Prime Minister regarding the current year\u2019s Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) and proposed development projects for the next fiscal year.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, officials reviewed details of proposed development projects and the funds required for their implementation, along with an assessment of the current year\u2019s PSDP progress.<\/p>\n
Addressing participants, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that public funds would only be invested in projects with guaranteed and measurable outcomes. He stated that ministries showing stronger performance would receive development funds on a priority basis.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said that construction of water reservoirs and hydroelectric projects remains among the government\u2019s top priorities, adding that projects aimed at increasing water storage capacity will receive special attention.<\/p>\n
Officials also briefed the meeting on progress regarding major national projects, including Dasu Dam, Diamer Bhasha Dam, and Mohmand Dam.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb for the successful issuance and positive market response to Panda Bonds.<\/p>\n
The meeting further appreciated the performance of the Railways, Information Technology, and Power Ministries, while directing authorities to promote public-private partnerships in development initiatives wherever possible.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Ahad Khan Cheema, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Hanif Abbasi, Sardar Owais Khan Leghari, Abdul Aleem Khan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, and senior government officials.<\/p>\n
