Islamabad (HRNW)- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that 20 Iranian and 11 Pakistani nationals aboard ships seized by the US have been successfully released and are being repatriated.<\/p>\n
In a statement on the social media platform X, Ishaq Dar said, \u201cAlhamdulillah, I am happy to inform you that we have successfully repatriated 11 Pakistanis and 20 nationals of our brotherly country Iran through Singapore who were on board ships seized by the US in the deep sea.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said that all the individuals are in good health and their morale is high. He added that the welfare of Pakistanis abroad, especially those facing difficulties, remains the government\u2019s top priority.<\/p>\n
Regarding the released citizens, Ishaq Dar said that all individuals reached Bangkok from Singapore and have boarded a flight to Islamabad. He added that arrangements are being made for Iranian nationals to return home.<\/p>\n
He expressed gratitude to Singapore\u2019s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, the Prime Minister of Singapore, and the Singaporean government for their cooperation and coordination throughout the process. He also thanked Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi for Pakistan\u2019s role in facilitating the return of Iranian citizens.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Prime Minister further thanked US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Government of Thailand, and Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow for assisting in transit arrangements through Bangkok.<\/p>\n
Ishaq Dar also appreciated officials of the Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry, and Pakistan\u2019s diplomatic missions in Singapore and Thailand for ensuring a safe and successful repatriation process.<\/p>\n
