Tehran (HRNW)-\u00a0Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai has stated that any rhetoric regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Iran\u2019s missile program, or Tehran\u2019s internal policies is not within the mandate of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).<\/p>\n
In his statement, he clarified that the IAEA\u2019s role is strictly limited to monitoring and verification of nuclear activities. He emphasized that political remarks on the Strait of Hormuz, missile development, or broader Iranian policy matters fall outside the agency\u2019s jurisdiction. He warned that such institutions risk losing credibility if they become influenced by political bias, external pressure, or personal interests.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson further said that the effectiveness and importance of international institutions decline when they deviate from their technical responsibilities. He reiterated that, according to its charter, the IAEA\u2019s primary duty is to ensure that nuclear materials are used exclusively for peaceful purposes through monitoring and verification mechanisms.<\/p>\n
