Alongside religious rituals, arrangements for animal sacrifice and Eid celebrations are also progressing rapidly.<\/p>\n
Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha are considered major Islamic festivals that highlight the values of sacrifice and devotion. Across Muslim-majority countries, the occasion is observed according to local traditions, and governments announce official holidays for public convenience.<\/p>\n
In Dhaka, the government of Bangladesh has officially announced 7-day holidays for Eid-ul-Adha 2026, following a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tariq Rahman. According to a statement issued by the Cabinet Division, the holidays will begin from Monday, May 25, and continue until Sunday, May 31.<\/p>\n
Due to the extended holiday period, the previously scheduled holiday on Saturday, May 23, has been canceled, while government offices will remain open on May 23 and May 24 to ensure continuity of administrative work and minimize disruption.<\/p>\n
The government has also directed relevant institutions to ensure improved travel arrangements and administrative support for citizens during the Eid period.<\/p>\n
In view of Eid shopping demand, market and shopping center timings across the country have been extended until 10:00 PM, allowing citizens more time for festive preparations.<\/p>\n
