Karachi (HRNW)-\u00a0Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon visited the Red Line BRT project in Karachi, accompanied by Secretary Transport Asad Zamin, CEO Trans Karachi Zubair Channa, consultants, and other officials, where he received a detailed briefing on the project\u2019s progress and the challenges being faced. Speaking on the occasion, Sharjeel Memon said the Sindh government has made all decisions regarding the project in accordance with the law and in the public interest, emphasizing that there was no negligence or bad faith involved. He explained that major development works in a large and densely populated city like Karachi are far more complex, particularly in busy areas such as University Road, where utility infrastructure, including issues involving K-Electric and Sui Gas, created significant obstacles, leading the government to terminate the previous contract and hand the project over to FWO. He stated that efforts are being made to partially restore traffic flow by the end of July and appealed to citizens for patience until completion, noting that the project is a long-term investment for future generations. Sharjeel Memon also stressed that alongside public transport, quality road construction is equally essential. Addressing criticism, he said political point-scoring should not overshadow development, reaffirming the government\u2019s commitment to timely completion of the project while continuing work on other major initiatives aimed at improving Karachi\u2019s infrastructure and public facilities.<\/p>\n
