KARACHI (HRNW):<\/b> During a discussion on the national economy and energy crisis at the residence of Chairman Afaq Ahmed, Vice Chairman Shaukatullah Farooqui stated that the current energy crisis is artificial. He characterized it as a failed attempt to cover up government incompetence and corruption. He noted that despite paying heavy taxes and exorbitant electricity and gas bills, the public continues to suffer from a persistent shortage of basic utilities. Farooqui criticized the fragility of the national economy, pointing out that while developed nations maintain oil stocks for years to insulate their citizens from global market fluctuations, Pakistan\u2019s reserves reportedly last only 18 days, leading to inevitable instability.<\/p>\n

The Vice Chairman questioned the lack of long-term strategic planning, specifically regarding strategic oil reserves and alternative energy sources to provide relief during crises. He highlighted the stark disparity between the suffering of the masses and the lifestyle of government officials, who continue to enjoy high salaries, luxury vehicles, protocols, and free utilities at the taxpayers’ expense. While the public faces inflation, unemployment, and a lack of water and power in extreme heat, these resources remain abundantly available for the ruling class. Farooqui warned that the oppressed public is now uniting under the leadership of Chairman Afaq Ahmed and demanded that the government fulfill its basic duty to the people before facing the full scale of public wrath.<\/p>\n
