Karachi (HRNW)- Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has said that the rulers take loans and their repayment is made from the people, which is complete injustice. Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that development projects in Karachi are not being completed and University Road has become a joke all over the world. He criticized the performance of the PPP and said that the city is being continuously neglected.<\/p>\n

He said that Jamaat-e-Islami is working to change the system and intends to bring a no-confidence motion against the Mayor of Karachi, while Jamaat-e-Islami is also starting a membership drive across the country from April 25. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that as long as the current system remains in place, there will be no improvement in the country. The court should take suo motu notice of the petroleum levy, Jamaat-e-Islami will approach the court against the petroleum levies.<\/p>\n

He termed the IPP agreements as illegal and said that the money for the electricity that is not generated is being collected from the public. The rulers, coming to power, make agreements to protect their interests instead of the country, the people are suffering the consequences. Talking about the education sector, he said that millions of children are out of school and measures like outsourcing in the name of education are anti-people. He said that even if the country gets 100 million dollars, the elite will gobble it up.<\/p>\n

Talking about global affairs, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman expressed concern over the situation in the Middle East and said that the policies of the US and Israel are causing unrest in the region. He termed the talks between Iran and the US as a compulsion of the US and said that Gaza and Iran have weakened the power of the US. He added that Pakistan’s role in the talks is important and Turkey and Iran should also be included in the defense agreements between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
