Washington (HRNW)- US Navy Secretary John C. Flynn has abruptly resigned from his position, although no official reason for his departure has been disclosed so far. According to reports, Flynn was nominated by President Donald Trump in November 2024 and later appeared before the Senate Committee in February 2025. He was confirmed as Navy Secretary in March 2025 by a vote of 62 to 30. Following his resignation, Undersecretary Hong Kao has been appointed as Acting Secretary of the Navy to temporarily oversee the department\u2019s responsibilities. Meanwhile, some news agencies have suggested that Flynn may have been dismissed rather than voluntarily stepping down. Earlier, US Army Chief of Staff General Rand George was also reportedly removed from his post during the Iran conflict. The Secretary of the Navy is responsible for overseeing the administrative, financial, and policy affairs of the US Navy.<\/p>\n
