Karachi (HRNW)<\/a>–<\/strong> Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi Division has described the November 26, 2024, incident at D-Chowk, Islamabadwhere PTI workers were subjected to state-led violence as one of the darkest chapters in Pakistan\u2019s political history. The party called the incident a severe attack on citizens\u2019 democratic rights, constitutional freedoms, and public liberties.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of the Black Day, PTI organized special prayer ceremonies across various areas of Karachi to honor the martyrs of the Islamabad tragedy. The events included prayers for the release of imprisoned party leaders, including Chairman Imran Khan, and candles were lit in remembrance of the slain workers.<\/p>\n

PTI Karachi Division President Raja Azhar said that November 26, 2024, witnessed unprecedented brutality against peaceful workers. \u201cState machinery was deployed without restraint. Tear gas, baton charges, and even live fire were used against our workers, leaving many dead or critically injured, while dozens were arrested on fabricated charges and thrown into jails. We must ask: why were guns fired? The atrocities of November 26 will never be forgotten,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

PTI spokesperson Fauzia Siddiqui stated that the Islamabad incident exposed grave violations of fundamental human rights on an international stage. She said that Karachi observed the day as a Black Day, and solidarity and prayer events were held nationwide for the workers who suffered under state oppression. \u201cThe nation pays tribute to the martyrs and detained comrades who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Chairman Imran Khan and the pursuit of justice,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

PTI Senior Vice President Faheem Khan said the sacrifices of the workers would serve as the foundation for the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law. Despite state intimidation, the morale and determination of the workers remain stronger than ever. \u201cNovember 26 has become a symbol of resistance and courage. PTI leadership pays tribute to the martyrs, the injured, and the detained workers. The nation awaits justice, and calls for transparent investigations into the Islamabad tragedy are growing nationwide. Our struggle for Imran Khan\u2019s release, judicial independence, and the protection of constitutional rights will continue,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Senior Vice President Jafar ul Hassan added that the sparks ignited outside Adiala Jail could transform into flames of revolution at any time. He said the blood of the workers was targeted to be suppressed, but the injustice and oppression are now visible to the world. \u201cOur sacrifices will not go in vain. The entire nation stands with Imran Khan,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n
