Brussels (HRNW)-\u00a0The head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Fatih Birol, has raised serious concerns over Europe\u2019s jet fuel reserves, warning of potential disruptions due to rising geopolitical tensions.<\/p>\n
According to the IEA, Europe currently has only six weeks of jet fuel reserves, and any disruption in oil supplies\u2014particularly due to tensions involving Iran could significantly impact air travel across the continent.<\/p>\n
Fatih Birol cautioned that the world may be heading toward a worst-case oil crisis, which could lead to further increases in the prices of petrol, gas, diesel, and electricity globally.<\/p>\n
He warned that countries including Japan, South Korea, India, China, Pakistan, and Bangladesh could be among the most affected if the crisis deepens.<\/p>\n
Birol added that if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, it could severely disrupt European aviation and create major uncertainty in the global energy market.<\/p>\n
Experts say the situation poses a serious challenge to the global economy, emphasizing the need for urgent diplomatic and economic measures.<\/p>\n
