Lahore (HRNW)- The energy crisis has intensified across the country, with the electricity shortfall exceeding 5,000 megawatts. According to Power Division sources, the electricity shortfall in the country has reached 5,726 megawatts, electricity production is 14,274 megawatts, while electricity demand is 20,000 megawatts. Sources say that the country\u2019s hydroelectric power production is 1,530 megawatts, thermal production is 7,814 megawatts.<\/p>\n
In addition, solar production in the country is 450 megawatts, wind energy production is 1,490 megawatts, nuclear production is 2,890 megawatts, while the Beas Power Plant is generating 100 megawatts of electricity.<\/p>\n
According to experts, this huge gap in supply and demand may lead to problems in load management, while citizens may also have to face unannounced power outages.<\/p>\n
LNG power plants halt power generation<\/p>\n
On the other hand, due to zero LNG imports in Pakistan, power generation from LNG power plants has stopped.<\/p>\n
Sources say that power generation from Haveli Bahadur Shah, Bheki and Nandipur power plants is negligible, production from Sahiwal Pul power plant is also almost stopped, 969 MW Neelum Jhelum dam, hydroelectric power project is also not generating electricity.<\/p>\n
According to sources, transmission lines are also unable to transmit power at full capacity, the system of electricity distribution companies is also overloaded.<\/p>\n
