Islamabad (HRNW)- Sherry Rehman has said that the stalling of the talks is unfortunate and this time should actually be a strategic pause. In an interview given to the British Broadcasting Corporation, she said that no major diplomatic outcome can be achieved in a single session, even if the talks last for several hours.<\/p>\n
According to Sherry Rehman, the exchange of drafts and the understanding of each other\u2019s positions in the initial stage are important developments, while patience and forbearance are the elements that help in moving the ceasefire or negotiation process forward.<\/p>\n
She said that it is clear from past experiences that negotiations are a long and phased process, in which it is necessary to give both parties adequate time and space to resolve the points of disagreement.<\/p>\n
She further said that lack of time and patience can push the situation towards a long and destructive conflict, which is harmful not only for the region but also for world peace.<\/p>\n
